  • IMO and STCW

    232_eidesvik-bilde We are accredited by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA) to provide the courses BRM, ERM, ECDIS and High Voltage in accordance with STCW, IMO Model Courses and NMA guidelines.

    BRM (standard)

    BRM (Bridge Resource Management) is a 3 day course in accordance with STCW 2010 and NMA's guidelines of 29 January 2015. Click here for a more detailed description. 

    BRM (1.22)

    BRM (Bridge Resource Management) is a 40 hrs. course; (4 days at center and 1 day remote e-learning). The course is in accordance with STCW 2010, IMO Model Course 1.39 and 1.22 and covers NMA's guidelines of 29 January 2015. The course objective is to give the participants an increased understanding of handling ships under various conditions and will make a more effective contribution to the bridge team during ship maneuvering in normal and emergency situations. Participants will gain
    - More insight with the use of engines and helm, effects of wind, current, shallow water, banks, narrow channels and condition of loading.
    - Increased understanding of the necessity of planning and efficient bridge procedures at the bridge in normal and emergency situations.
    - Increased understanding of human factors that affect behavior, interaction and communication including shared mental models.

    The course lasts for 4 days in addition to an e-learning module.

    For personnel having passed the BRM (standard) course according to NMA guidelines or IMO model course 1.39 we offer a supplementary course to achieve the BRM 1.22 course diploma.

    BRM (supplement)

    This BRM course is a supplementary course to the BRM (standard) course to achieve the BRM 1.22 course diploma. The course lasts for 20 hours (3 days). Participants will gain more insight with the use of engines and helm, effects of wind, current, shallow water, banks, narrow channels and condition of loading and increased understanding of the necessity of planning and efficient bridge procedures at the bridge in normal and emergency situations.

    ERM

    ERM (Engine Room Resource Management) is a 3 day course in accordance with STCW 2010 and NMA's guidelines of 29 January 2015. Click here for a more detailed description. 

    ECDIS

    ECDIS is a 3 day course in accordance with STCW 2010 and NMA's guidelines. Click here for a more detailed description. An AIS course can be integrated in the course which then will last for 4 days. We also offer AIS as a stand alone course. Please contact us for more information. 

    High Voltage Course for Engineers

    High Voltage Course for Engineers is a 3 day course in accordance with STCW and NMA's guidelines. In addition to the course at the center the participant have to perform an e-learning module. Click here for a more detailed description.

    High Voltage Course for Ship Electricians

    High Voltage Course for Ship electricians is a 3,5 days (35 hours) course building on the similar course for engineers (3 days and 47,5 hours e-learning). The courses are in accordance with STCW and NMA's guidelines.

    Pre-course to Certificate test for Deck Officers and Chief/Engineers

    This 3-day course provides Deck officers and Chief/Engineers the opportunity to refresh their knowledge before the Certificate test. Click here for a more detailed description.

  • Tankers including shuttle tankers

    299_tandem We offer Offshore Loading Basic (phase 1 and 2) and Offshore Loading Retraining (phase 3) in accordance with GOMO guidelines, O & G UK regulations and Statoil’s competence requirements.

    Offshore Loading Basic

    Tankerman low-grade and high-grade according to IMO model courses 101E and 102E.

  • DP DNV-GL

  • Rig

    249_rigg We offer courses to maritime personnel in managerial positions on mobile offshore drilling units. We have two set of courses: 1. Courses according to IMO Resolution A 1079 for stability and ballast control and OIM course for semi-submersibles. 2. Courses that were a part of the former Norwegian module based management program for OIM’s and Stability officers. The courses are normally held in Norwegian but can be held in English upon request.

    Module 7: Rig stability

    This 4 day course gives the participants an understanding of how to manage stability in semi-submersible rigs. Click here for a more detailed course description.

    Module 9: Maritime operations

    This 4 day course gives the particpants an understanding of operational conditions aboard floating units and the regulations that effects these conditions. Click here for a more detailed course description.

    Module 10: Rig manouvering

    This 4 day course gives the particpants an introduction  to and practice in moving flotating units. Click here for a more detailed course description.

    Rig Operations

    This 4-5 day training is aimed at maritime officers on semi-submersible rigs wishing to train on DP, POOSMOR as well as stability and ballast incidents . The course is to a high degree tailor made to the customer's and the course participants requirements and are only held upon formal request. Emergency preparedness and BRM could be integrated in the training as well as assessment of the course participants.     (IMO) Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) Semi-Submersible Course

    This is a five days course is designed for OIMs at semi-submersible rigs. The course is according to IMO Resolution A.1079 (28), recommendations in Table 6.2 and are accredited by DNV-GL.

    (IMO) Maintenance Supervisor MOU Course

    This is a 3 days cours for Maintence Supervisors on MOUs designed according to IMO Resolution A.1079 (28), recommendations in Table 6.5 and accredited by DNV-GL

    (IMO) Rig Stability and Ballast Control

    This is a five days course designed for coming OIMs and Stability Control Managers at semi-submersible rigs. The course is according to IMO Resolution A.1079 (28), recommendations in Table 6.2 and 6.4 and are accredited by DNV-GL.

  • Subsea

    243_kart In our integrated subsea simulator we can provide anything from ROV pilot training and familiarization to complete dry runs of real operations with bridge, crane, ROV and Shift Supervisor working in the same environment. Allthough Simsea has an extencive library of simulator models, dry runs will require modelling. Dependant on the learning objectives the customer might want to model subsea equipment, infrastructure, sebed as well as even ships. Because of this, the planning time for dry runs could be 3-6 months.

    Complex operations in simulator

    In our integrated subsea simulator we can provide our customers with the possibility to carry out dry-runs of complex operations. A dry-run in a realistic environment will reduce the cost of the project as it reduces offshore time and risk for stops in the operation. We can provide modeling services, familiarization, team training and a dedicated room for observation for project personnel. Click here for more information.

    ROV

    Our ROV simulators are from Kystdesign and Fugro. On these simulators we can offer familiarization, training, assesment and testing etc. The ROVs can be used on their own or as a part of our integrated subsea simulator. Please contact us for more information.

    DP Awareness for Subsea personnel

    This course is a 3 day version of the DP Induction course for DPOs that run over 5 days. The content is an extraction of the 5 day DPO course with focus on offshore operations utilizing DP. This course is meant to give all Operational Offshore crew positions a broad overview of DP as a technical system and what it can be used for, as well as the standards, Class demands and usage in offshore operations. Click here for a more detailed description.

  • Emergency Management

    243_kart Simsea are accredited to offer Emergency Management training by the Norwegian Oil and Gas Assosiation. The training consists of two courses, the basic course and the refrsher. After completing the courses the participant should be able to participate in the emergency management in his/her own organization, as well as have an understanding of emergency preparedness requirements in the petroleum industry.Emergency training courses could be combined with other training for instance Rig Operations.

    Emergency Management Basic

  • Norwegian Pilot Extemption Course

    243_kart This course wich is accredited by the Norwegain Coastal Administration, is a necessary step towards a Cadet PEC. The course lasts for five days and are held in English, A Norwegain State Pilot will always bethe lead instructor on these courses.

    Coastal Navigation for Cadet PEC

    This 5 day course is the first step towards a Cadet PEC. With a Cadet PEC a navigator can attend the function as officer in charge of the watch inside Norwegian waters without a ordinary PEC.   • Offshore

    M/V The following training are usually offered upon request, but some are also provided as open courses at times.

    Anchor handling

    This course is a 4 day training course that gives captains and officers with limited or no experience from anchor handling simulator training. The course can be adapted to suit the experience level of the participants.     Shiphandling and manoeuvering

    This 1 day course provides officers in charge of manoeuvering the vessels with training in port and narrow/tight harbour conditions. Click here for a more detailed course description.

    Kongsberg K-Bridge ECDIS operator course

    AIS
